Express Entry
Express Entry is a selection system implemented by the Government of Canada to expedite the Permanent Resident visa process for various Economic Immigration Programs with a quicker processing time averaging around 6 months. Skilled workers are chosen based on their skills and abilities to contribute to Canada’s Economy.
There are 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:
Canadian Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.
Eligibility-
- Meet the required language levels either through CELPIP or IELTS-General
- have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years with minimum of 30 hours / week at your Full-time job.
- The job experience should be in a Managerial job (NOC skill level 0), Professional job (NOC skill type A), Technical jobs and skilled trades (NOC skill type B)
- Meet the minimum language score of CLB 5 or CLB 7 on the Canadian Language Benchmark, based on the level of Job
Federal Skilled Worker Program
This program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience
This program has minimum requirements for:
- skilled work experience
- language ability
- education
After all the minimum requirements are met the application will be further assessed on the following basis: –
- age
- education
- work experience
- a valid job offer
- English and/or French language skills
These factors are part of a 100-point grid used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. The Current Score is 67 Point for skilled worker program.
Federal Skilled Trades Program
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
Minimum requirements
To be Eligible, one must:
- meet the required language levels with minimum of 5 bands for speaking and listening, and 4 bands for reading and writing
- have at least 2 years of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work experience) in a skilled trade within the 5 years before you apply
- have a valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least 1 year
- Proof of funds – should have enough money for you and your family to settle in Canada
Or have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada.
